What are the penalties if the victim is 65 years or older?

If the victim of an aggravated battery is 65 years of age or older, Florida Statute § 784.08 requires the offense to be reclassified from a second-degree felony to a first-degree felony. This increases the maximum prison sentence from 15 years to 30 years.
